Perfect Golf Swing Drills

Three Golf Swing Drills for Amateur and Professional Golfers

Golf swing drills are like regular exercise. Doing these will keep you in shape and in top-toe condition to play the game. These are important for amateur and even professional golfers. In this article, you will learn three different swing drills that will help enhance your golfing skills.

Pulse Finding

This golf swing drill will help you find your pulse or your natural swinging rhythm:

1. Put aligned golfing tees on the ground, four inches away from each other.

2. Stand near the closest tee and swing a 7-iron back and through in a continuous swinging action.

3. Start walking forward, clipping one tee to the next out of ground. Do this in succession.

Repeat this drill three times and you’ll achieve a swing pace that will help you keep your equilibrium and generate club head speed.

Balance Points

This golfing drill will be helpful in memorizing and perfecting your balance points.

1. Feel your balance while your eyes are closed. Have a back swing and stop at the top. Feel your equilibrium on the inside of your back foot.

2. Begin your down swing by moving your weight on the front shoe. Stop at impact. Ensure that your weight is always on your front foot.

3. Continue swinging to the finish then stop. Feel your weight on your front foot. Then tap your back toe.

Slow Motion

Use this drill to practice slow motion swinging:

1. Setup 10 teed-up balls then make a slow motion full swing. The travelling distance of the balls must not exceed 15 yards. This speed is like 10% of your ordinary swinging speed. Your belt buckle is your swing’s speedometer in this exercise.

2. In every 10 balls, raise the speed of your body rotation by 10 percent.

3. You will attain your optimum balance speed and rhythm as soon as your body rotation speed reaches 80 percent.

Keep practicing this and you will be astonished at the distance the ball can go. You will be amazed of the solidity of your contact with the ball.

Always remember that golf swing drills must be practiced with your heart. There’s no sense of doing something if your heart is not into it. Golf surely is a difficult sport. But if your heart is in it, you will be encouraged to do constant practicing. This alone will keep your balance, speed, and power to their optimum level.

Aside from these three, there are still many golf swing drills you should learn.
